Bernie Robinson takes up role of Currie Group MD in restructure

As part of the restructure, Phillip Rennell has been appointed sales and marketing director and Andrew Fitzpatrick has been appointed Group finance director and company secretary.

Andrew Matthews, in addition to his existing national consumables management role, will take on strategic account management and development and Paul Thompson has been appointed state manager NSW/ACT.

Victoria will continue without an official state manager with Phillip Rennell and Bernie Robinson sharing the duties.

Commenting on his appointment, Bernie Robinson told Australian Printer that it will be business as usual at Currie Group with the business continuing to distribute its focus evenly throughout its offset, CTP and consumables divisions.

He says, “Business has been running well for all our traditional businesses as well as our HP Indigo operations and we expect things to continue this way into the future.”

Robinson continues that his new role will include getting out on the road visiting Currie Group customers in person. He says, “We have a large data base of customer throughout Australia and ideally I would like to visit them all.

“The appointment to managing director is quite a privilege for me as it shows that by handing over the title, David Currie has faith in me, which is something I hold in high regard.”
