BJ Ball to shave it all

BJ Ball NSW will be participating in the World’s Greatest Shave for the fourth year running, with five staff members registered to either shave or colour their hair.

Tony Bertrand, Glenn Ford, Michael Phillpott, Allan Cox and Kylie Reynolds have committed, and are encouraging the print industry to sponsor them, counting on the same strong support they have received in prior years.

Bertrand, national sales and marketing manager, BJ Ball says, “We do a lot of these things throughout the year, different events to raise money for the community. We have had staff members with partners who have been affected by cancer in many forms. It is our sense of community that drives us to do these things.”

Bertrand has shaved his head on multiple occasions for the cause, and says, “After the first week of regrowth a lot of people seem to ask me if I am sick, and I have to reassure them I am okay. It starts a conversation around World’s Greatest Shave, so it is a good thing.”

He says, “Every day 34 Australians are diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Not only does it affect individuals, it also impacts family, friends and surrounding community. BJ Ball believes we can all do our bit and help raise awareness and money to find a cure and support those who are currently going through treatment.”
