BJ Ball has joined forces with Double A International to stock its uncoated woodfree (UCWF) folio paper in Australia. Double A has been an established mill and supplier in Australia and New Zealand for more than 20-years, but now BJ Ball will stock the Double A paper.

Speaking with Australian Printer, Tony Bertrand, BJ Ball marketing and business development manager, says it made sense to extend its product range. Bertrand says, “We have a good history with Double A as we provide their copy paper, and when they asked us to supply the printing paper, which will be supplied through our Icon business, it made sense to extend our offering as it is an excellent paper.” Thirawit Leetavorn, senior executive vice-president of Double A, says, “Double A folio papers were previously sold and marketed in Australia under distributor’s own brand. “BJ Ball will provide ongoing access to our customers with this product now marketed under the brand name Double A Laser.” He says the secret to the success of the Double A is the fast-growing farmed trees that yield high-fibre content for quality paper making. “The high-fibre count provides better bulk, a higher opacity and a smoother surface for outstanding print results,” he adds. In Australia, Double A has been a proud platinum partner of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) since 2005 and contributes $100,000 annually. Leetavorn says, “Making a difference is a core pillar of the Double A philosophy. Whether it is supporting rural farming communities through our farmed tree initiative or through our partnership with the NBCF, social responsibility is integral to our business. “We are genuinely excited at the prospect of continuing to grow our presence in the Australian market with the launch of Double A Laser.”
