Simon Wheeler, director of Canon Professional Print, is moving on to a new position in London as director of Photo Production Printing at the print giant’s European headquarters.

Michael Boyle
Wheeler has put in four and a half years of service in Australia and New Zealand, serving as managing director with Océ Australia from 2009 and in his latest role since 2013. Originally hailing from the UK, Wheeler says he and his partner will return to their native home to raise their new baby daughter. Mike Boyle will step up to take his place as senior general manager for Canon Professional Print in January 2014. Canon says Boyle will focus on strategies to enhance client intimacy within the business and further develop the relationships Canon and Océ have built with its customer base. Boyle worked for Océ Australia from 1995, rising to the role of business unit director of Wide Format Printing Systems before relocating to the Netherlands to take up the role of international marketing director. He will build on Wheeler’s contribution of transitioning the business from Océ to Canon, and says, “Simon has led the business through a challenging period of integration while setting us on path to towards achieving our goal of bringing us closer to our customers. “With this foundation in place, I am committed to realising this vision and making Canon the partner of choice for the future.”
