BR Printing installs new iCtp PlateWriter from AGS

AGS continues, advanced inkjet technology jets a patented liquid dot formulation onto the plate to add the areas to be imaged on the printing press. The plate then passes through the iCtP finishing unit to bond the image on to the plate.

Commenting on the installation at the printer’s Kensington facility, Ken Pooley owner of BR Printing says, “We were using an old imagesetter, burn down frame and plate processor, which has been great however continuing little problems with each unit were becoming frustrating so we looked at the iCtp system from AGS.”

Pooley continues, “Given the ease of using the system and the time saved in making plates it’s been a great investment and not hard to justify the cost at just under $50,000.”

BR Printing has been operating in Melbourne for more than 45 years, and is currently running single and two-colour Heidelberg GTO’s, two-colour Heidelberg SM74, and a single colour MO.

Pooley adds, “We print all kinds of things from singe to four colour jobs as well as labels, with the volume of plates we do and the quick turnaround we need to provide our customers the iCtp is ideal for our company.”

Also commenting, Ross Gilberthorpe, marketing business development manager at AGS says, “I have seen a real need for quite a long time now for an affordable system to suit the small to medium printer and BR Printing is an ideal location for our first installation.

“Ken has been very good to us in letting our potential customers come and see the system in operation, there is no better reference than that of a customer using the system”.
