Brett Wark has celebrated a career milestone – 15 years with Smartech Business Solutions.

Wark, who was also recently named in last year’s ProPrint Awards Supplier 50, first joined Smartech (previously GBC) within its offset consumables division as a senior account manager in 2010.

“At the time, I was looking for a company that was getting into digital print because I knew that was going to be the next evolution,” Wark told Sprinter.

Since then, Wark has held various roles within the organisation including business development manager for offset and packaging, product manager for sign and display, and most recently, NSW sales and national product manager for sign and display.

According to Wark, a significant career highlight was attending drupa last year.

“It’s amazing how much my life has changed, from being just a ‘printer by trade’ to having the chance to experience the global print industry,” he said.

“Attending drupa last year was something that I never thought as a printer that I would get the opportunity to go and see.

“It’s has been great journey full of exciting opportunities and achievements. I’m looking forward to even more years of growth and collaboration with leading manufacturers and some of Australia largest print organisations.”

Wark and the Smartech team will also be at PacPrint, which is taking place at the Sydney Showgrounds Dome, Halls 2 and 3, from 20-23 May, and will be co-located with Visual Impact Sydney and the Label and Packaging Expo.

“We will have a stand at PacPrint and will be showcasing innovations from our leading brands including HP, AGFA, Duplo, Jwei, Quadient, OKI, and Epson. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there,” Wark said.
