Bright acquires Enviro

Bright Print Group is adding another business to its ranks, buying Sydney offset printing & finishing company Enviro Press Australia, with Enviro’s site being closed and its equipment currently on auction.

The site closed on Friday, clients and staff were transferred over to Bright.

Up for grabs from the Enviro site in Smithfield is a Komori five colour press among other pieces.

Debbie Burgess, director of Bright says, “It is a locally based organisation with a good name. We took it as an opportunity to incorporate another business into our group.

“Bright is not buying any of its equipment, we are taking on some staff.

“We had known one of the owners for a while, it was an easy conversation to have when they were ready to sell.

“We can now offer a wider range of offerings to their customers and there is the combined identity. We look forward to welcoming clients from Enviro Press.”

Australian Valuations is handling the sale of Enviro’s assets with Peter Brand, managing director, National Auctioners and Valuers assisting. He says, “It is reflective of further consolidation in the industry. There is the option of making more investments to upgrade, which not everyone wants to do, or going over to someone else. Otherwise a business could spend around $4-5m on new equipment.

“Instead you can use someone else’s manufacturing capability to service your own clients, which makes sense, and there is a lot of overlap in the market.

“There has been a lot of interest in the Komori press. We expect to sell 100 per cent of all of the equipment.

“People still want to buy second hand equipment, unless it is digital. There is still a home for everything.”

Enviro was a family owned business specialising in producing high quality magazines, brochures, annual reports and corporate and commercial printing.

Last year Bright acquired its sixth company, Oxford Communications Group, a new era for the business after 20 years.

BPG has been running for more than 50 years employing 120 staff members in both its Sydney and Newcastle location. It offers wide format, digital printing, binding and finishing, full colour printing, graphic design, mailing and distribution, inventory management, multi-channel marketing, packaging and POS.

The auction will run until Tuesday, to find out more head here.
