Brisbane print franchises “completely flooded”

A Snap spokesperson told ProPrint that Snap Sumner Park has been flooded up to the mezzanine level, while Snap Milton has had two metres of water through its site. Snap Rocklea is still inaccessible, but appears to have been flooded up to its second level.

Snap has released a statement saying that its centres in Fortitude Valley and South Brisbane “have been affected to some degree”. Snap Ipswich is believed to have avoided the flooding.

“Sadly, some [sites] have been completely flooded,” the company said. “Snap’s Brisbane hub also suffered minor flooding.”

The company has implemented a Snap Assistance Program aimed at “harnessing resources from Snap’s national network to help the flood affected centres”, while a delegation of Snap staff will head to Queensland in the coming days to help the recovery process.

Meanwhile, as many as 10 Worldwide Online sites are either closed or operating from other Worldwide franchises. The company has published a list on its website about the status of its Queensland centres.

Samantha Bryant, centre manager at Worldwide Milton, said that their site hadn’t been breached by the floodwaters, but that they were still without power. The company is currently trading from Worldwide’s Upper Mount Gravatt franchise and hopes to have power restored to Milton by Wednesday.

Bryant said that the Milton office had prepared for flooding by moving all of its equipment to the fourth floor office occupied by another tenant, but that the waters didn’t end up rising any further than the basement car park.

“A lot of businesses had it a lot worse than we did,” Bryant said.

Alliance Paper Products, which is also located in the suburb of Rocklea, told ProPrint that its site is “okay and not flooded out”.
