Cactus sharpens its NUR

Initially, the newly-installed printer experienced what Cactus Imaging general manager for high resolution John Gray describes as ìteething problemsî, noting that while the installation of the printer heralded a significant improvement of their services, there had been an issue with banding on the finished product. An upgrade, bringing the NUR up to eight-colours, seems to be just what the doctor ordered.

ìSince upgrading to eight-colour, it has been significantly more reliable,î says Gray.

ìIt replaced a Vutek 2360 which had limitations due to its maximum size. We believe that the new printer has expanded our opportunities as well as servicing our existing business.î

However, the upgrade did more than just solve some initial troubles with banding, improving the quality and performance of the machine beyond their expectations.

ìThis has improved the quality markedly as the upgrade also embraces a configuration change with the head that gives sharper resolution and a software enhancement that does similar. The productivity has also improved with faster printing speeds,î says Cactus Printing CEO Warwick Spicer.

According to Celmac sales manager for digital product group Grant Bidois, the eight-colour upgrade option for the NUR Fresco is becoming a popular option for printers to take.
ìThe 8-colour upgrade with the new head configuration has been very well received,î says Bidois.

ìIt adds a new dimension to the printed work, giving printers the ability to improve their colour, resolution and productivity of their jobs.î
