Samantha Crock, education manager at GAMAA says, “Successful applicants will be awarded a scholarship that facilitates financial, educational and professional support over three years.”
Key criteria for the Scholarships include:
- Eligible post graduate studies – certificate/diploma and/or Masters level
- Field of study – management and leadership
- Study must be in a University or GAMAA approved course
- Support from employer
Throughout the past six years the GAMAA Leadership Education Programme has evolved to meet the demands of the industry, according to Crock.
She says, “We have run several focus groups with producers and suppliers to define the areas that are lacking in education for the industry. The most recent results indicate a need to improve the skills of management with particular reference to change.”
David Constable, Marketing Officer for AustralianSuper and GAMAA Graduate says, “I feel very fortunate to have received the GAMAA scholarship to support my post-graduate studies. It has allowed me to extend myself into other areas that I would otherwise not have considered.”
Constable continues, “Perhaps most significantly, knowing I had the support of the GAMAA scholarship allowed me to take a risk with my course selection. I chose to do a research style project that ultimately resulted in a small thesis. This was a hugely challenging project for me, the most rewarding and the most learning intensive experience.”
