The approach to market is a re-tendering exercise, as the agencies involved refresh the printing and production multi-use list appointed last year.
There are currently 81 members of this panel, all of which will need to reapply to remain on the list.
The tender is being led by Centrelink, which spends $10 million per year on print, making it the biggest single buyer among the 27 agencies represented (click here for the full list).
A Centrelink spokesperson told ProPrint that despite the joint approach to market, agencies would still procure print in different ways.
“Some agencies use an external print manager (eg, Centrelink) from the print management panel, others have a centralised internal publications unit (eg, Health and Ageing), while some have decentralised purchasing where each business team procures their own work,” he said.
The deadline for applications is 9 August at 2pm and contracts will commence from 30 October 2010.
Canberra announced the massive procurement shake-up in December last year. It comprises printing, print management, design and logistics.
