Canon and Oce to show off first jointly developed machine at PrintEx11

The digital press can print up to 70 pages per minute at 1,200dpi on stocks up to 325gsm. It combines Canon's ImagePress C7010 VP platform, launched at Ipex last year, with Océ's Prismasync controller front-end.

Canon Australia business imaging director Craig Manson said printers would benefit from the combined industry knowledge of the Japanese and Dutch manufacturers.

"As the first jointly developed product, it is an important demonstration of Canon and Océ’s existing research and development synergies and our ability to develop leading technology that ultimately will drive better solutions for customers," he said.

"With this launch, we will begin to show how our R&D program, our broad range of products and our collective industry knowledge will help us to grow our customers’ businesses and become the global leader in the print industry."

Océ marketing manager Damian Schaller said: "For print professionals, the merging of front end and printing press into one integrated system delivers offset-quality print and improves production efficiency with the convenience, shorter run lengths and cost benefits of digital production."

Canon announced its takeover of Océ in March last year.
