Canon Australia’s new Océ Arizona 2200 series is now available for order in Australia following its initial debut at drupa last week.

According to Canon, the new Océ Arizona 2260 and 2280 models are designed to churn out sign and display work, and are also suitable for ‘ultra-high quality print and functional print applications’.

Thomas Mckerrow, Canon product manager for display graphics says the Arizona 2200 models are engineered with a print versatility, with the capacity to print work ranging from signage to photography.

“As well as making it easier to meet tight deadlines on even the most exacting work, these versatile printers will allow businesses to capitalise on new market opportunities and explore a wider range of applications – from sign and display, right through to the most demanding high-end work like fine art prints and photo reproduction,” says Mckerrow.

The UV flatbed machines are also topped with features such as Océ’s patented Active Pixel Placement Compensation technology and automated print head maintenance.

“Like the well-established 600 series in the Australian market, the new 2200 series features true flatbed architecture, which means edge-to-edge and double-sided printing on virtually any rigid media, even unconventionally shaped, heavy, smooth or pre-cut media,” adds Mckerrow.

“The release at drupa has been very positive, and we expect print service providers here in Australia to be equally excited about the possibilities of this new range, which will provide more opportunities to meet customer demands and grow profitable new revenue streams.”

Canon says Australian orders for the 2200 series have began rolling in following its unveiling at drupa, the machines set to hit Aussie shores in the second half of this year.
