Canon launches new workflow

Canon has developed a new workflow solution, the Canon Océ Prismaprepare, which it says integrates with many systems and work processes to help drive print operations for efficiency and revenue opportunities.

Canon says the Prismaprepare all-in-one document preparation software simplifies document make ready from composition through print production to finishing.

It says whether printers are collecting and cleaning up pages from digital or hard copy sources, enhancing documents, assigning media attributes, creating inserts or optimising image colour brightness and saturation, Prismaprepare document preparation software streamlines the prepress workflow from start to finish.

Peter Britliff, senior manager marketing, Canon Australia says software continues to be a differentiator for printers in terms of providing flexibility and productivity.

“At Canon Australia we see companies becoming more proactive with software to pursue larger opportunities and initiatives, such as automating workflow, increasing efficiency and offering new services. With the expanded capabilities of the Canon Océ Prisma portfolio, we can help printers move ahead with a strategy-based software approach,” he says.

The company says Prismaprepare supports a wider range of production printing applications that will expand service offerings. It will optimise colour quality and consistency with the integrated colour management to enable accurate corporate branding, whilst simplified pre-press processes ensure that tough deadlines are met.

There is investment protection with the ability to print PDF files to any Canon Océ Press or compatible third party device and easy handling of routine tasks is simplified with its PDF-based workflow with support for integrated Adobe Acrobat Professional and connectivity to PDF-enabled standalone programs from Canon Océ and third parties.

Anjana Maikap, product manager – production tech and solutions, Canon Australia says print providers spend between 20 and 45 minutes preparing every job and charged back to their clients.

She says, “The less time you spend on non-billable work, the more time you will spend generating profit."
