Canon releases new Arizona UV printers

Damian Schaller, marketing manager, Canon Professional Print, told Australian Printer, “The new CM2 mode enables far greater productivity by allowing customers to produce higher quality at full production speed. New ink channels allow for varnish or double white ink for opacity on the Arizona 600 series. This increases the versatility of applications that can be produced.”

The four new models are the Arizona 640 GT which has four independent ink channels, CMYK printing, for standard table size, while the Arizona XT is for larger table size. The Arizona 660 GT and the Arizona 660 XT has six independent ink channels, multiple print configurations and prints on a large table size.

Canon says the six independent ink channels can be configured to suit the needs of the professional print provider. The new models can be configured for maximum productivity, optimised White Ink utility or with both Varnish and White Ink for versatility.

The company adds that, for those shops that focus on retail signage or other standard graphics applications and require the highest throughput, channels five and six can be configured to enhance print speed by adding extra cyan and magenta nozzle capacity. Called CM2 or C-M-squared, this innovation results in production prints with smoothness comparable to those produced in Quality mode. Canon says that CM2 configured printers also feature Production-Squared print mode with print speeds of more than 46sqm per hour – nearly 25 per cent faster than Production mode.

Schaller concludes, “Being a versatile printer this new Arizona will fit many different target markets including sign writers, display graphics businesses and the point of sale industry.”
