Civic Media has installed a second five metre wide Uvistar printer after reporting an 82 per cent surge in work over the past year.
Supplied by Fujifilm, the printer joins an Acuity Advance HS flatbed UV, an Acuity LED 1600 and an Inca Onset Q40i UV which are installed at Civic’s factory north of Brisbane.
Civic managing director Adam Middleton says the second printer has helped clear a backlog of work.
“We are extremely busy and even with the addition of a second Uvistar, we have had to increase operations to 24/5,” he says.
“After using Fujifilm machinery and seeing how well they have looked after our account, we knew we could build on our relationship with them as we continue to grow as a business with them as our supplier.”
According to Fujifilm, the printer has 32 inkjet printheads which can deliver true 600 dpi and a wide-gamut inkset with CMYK, Lc, Lm and Lk.
Fujifilm says it comes with an extra feature called parallel drop size (PDS) which can deposit 40pl and 20pl droplets in one pass, which it promises will deliver the advantages of grey-scale without a decrease in productivity.
Fujifilm will be unveiling new models powered by Uvijet inks at drupa.
