Clarke Murphy Print signs up for 7th swissQprint at PacPrint

Clarke Murphy Print (CMP) has signed on the dotted line for a swissQprint Karibu S dedicated roll-to-roll wide format printer at PacPrint.

It will be the seventh swissQprint that Benn Murphy, a director at CMP, has purchased since he first saw the swissQprint operating at a trade show in 2012.

CMP currently has two hybrid swissQprint Nyala 3S machines in operation and now is adding a Karibu S, which has a production speed of 163 square metres per hour, to help with capacity as the world of retail continues to open up post-COVID.

CMP is a traditional offset printer which has installed a range of new equipment this year. It added wide format to the offer in 2010 and this type of printing now accounts for 25 per cent of CMP’s revenue.

“We are a traditional offset business which has digital roll labels and wide format, and we are all about capturing that Australia wide. Now with retail coming back that is going to be a big push for us. We do anything from one poster to 1,000 pull up banners,” Murphy said.

“We have a long relationship with Pozitive Camtech. They are one of the six to seven great stakeholders in our family business. Phil and the team have been outstanding. Adriano Gut from swissQprint flew Dad and I over when we had an issue and the way they dealt with us was fantastic. The swissQprint machines are extremely reliable.

“We’ve got two Nyala 3S machines running now. They run six days a week, sometimes seven, and often 24 hours a day. And now we have the Karibu S to add to that capacity,” Murphy said.

“We also use a number of Pozitive’s media to complement the machines as well. They are a great family business, and this is a great family business to family business relationship.”

Pozitive managing director Phillip Trumble thanked Murphy for being a great advocate for the swissQprint range.

“We are very fortunate to have Benn and Clarke Murphy Print as our customers. We are a small family business and have amazing products so it helps us get the message out there about the range. Benn has tried and tested this range. He bought two, traded them in and bought more and now he is giving the roll to roll a go so it is fantastic. It is really good to have partners like that.”

This year Pozitive is celebrating its 30th year in business.
