Colorpak shows strength with corporate rebrand and new divisions

The packaging company, which recently acquired the folding carton operations of rival Carter Holt Harvey, used the opportunity to unveil its new graphics department Brandpak and a $3.5m equipment investment for a new paper cup forming division.

Managing director Alex Commins told staff, clients and suppliers that Colorpak’s revenue is set to increase by 60% over two years to $200m.

“At the end of June last year, our revenue was around $80m,” he said,

“If you think back that in 1985 our turnover was a mere $1.5m, you can understand why we are pretty proud of that number.

“Here we are now a year later, having purchased the Carter Holt Harvey carton business and projecting revenue for next year to be around the $200m mark.”

Commins added that the move to rename CHH’s ‘Montage Graphics’ division as ‘Brandpak’ came from a desire to be help clients “stand out and stay ahead”.

“Brandpak works with the four dimensions of packaging: material, instruction, graphics and finishing.”

Colorpak has invested in new technology at its Braeside facility to manufacture “high-end paper cups”, which is expected to add $4-5m in sales in 2011-12.

“The new facility is capable of producing in excess of 30 million paper cups and lids per year and we have signed contracts to produce the requirements for three of Australia’s premium ice cream manufacturers at this stage, and we are in talks with others,” said Commins.

A similar event will be held at 24 Moons in Melbourne this evening.
