Computershare buys out Fuji Xerox Digital Post

Randy Dean, CEO, Digital Post Australia told Australian Printer, “This change in ownership is the culmination of the FujiXerox acquisition of Salmat’s BPO business. From an operational perspective, nothing has changed. FujiXerox remains highly supportive of the DPA channel and is committed to promoting the Digital Postbox with its customers. We look forward to continued success in working with both Computershare and Fuji Xerox in bringing the benefits of digital postal mail to the Australian market.”

The purchase brings Computershare’s holding to 80 per cent, Stuart Crosby, CEO, Computershare says the company is pleased to be building on its investment, he says, “We’ve said all along that we’re totally committed to the concept of online mailboxes for Australian businesses and consumers, and this shows we’re confident in the success of Digital Post Australia.”

US based digital post provider Zumbox holds the remaining 20 per cent in the company. Only three-months ago Fuji Xerox Document Management Solutions picked up its 40 per cent ownership of Digital Post as part of its $375m acquisition of Salmat’s business process outsourcing division. Rivals Salmat and Computer joined forces to set up Digital Post to compete directly with Australia Post’s own proposed digital mailbox. The number three player in the transactional market Sema has also just announced it will be in the digital mailbox business, tying up a deal with Bill Exchange.

Digital postboxes are aimed at providing one secure digital location for all a person’s  financial and others sensitive personal information to be sent to.
