CPI celebrates G&K folder century

This marks a period of rapid growth in installations of this strongly built German finishing equipment, which has a reputation for quick make-readies and high accuracy folding.

To celebrate the event, CPI presented Pat Leitch, Centurion managing director, with two encased traditional German dolls, supplied especially for the occasion by the G&K company.

In selecting G&K, Pat Leitch was drawn to the heavy design of both folders, which have the same diameter fold rollers and slitter shafts, enabling accessories to be interchanged between the A1 and A2 models. He says they invested in the new G&K folders in order to have the latest technology.

Centurion Print operates 24 hours a day, six days a week, with a fleet of three A1 and A2 Komori Lithrone presses. The rapidly growing company has expanded into adjoining premises to accommodate the new finishing department, which also includes an Osako saddlebinder from CPI.
