They turned to T.S. Wilsons and found them ready and willing to provide an innovative solution. T.S. Wilsons took one of the range of Graphic Whizards, the Finishmaster 150, a machine that normally produces two creases, and reworked it to fit extra creasing capability allowing the machine to produce four creases. It meant that Fastfold were able to bring creasing in-house, saving time and money, without having to pay a huge amount for equipment with additional and unnecessary capability.
“T.S. Wilsons really went that extra mile to make sure the machine suited our needs,” says Fastfold operations manager Grant Allen.
“We have saved a hell of a lot of money by bringing the work in house. It’s a real time-saver too. We don’t have to wait for somebody else to fit our work in, we do it all and with greater control too. We check and make sure the settings are right before we run the jobs, which take only about five minutes to set up and 10-15 minutes total for an average run”. Previously, when Fastfold was sending its work out for creasing, it would lose half a day in turn around.
The Graphic Whizard Finishmaster 150 is compact and mobile, SRA3 (450mm width) in format and runs up to 20,000 sheets/sets per hour. It incorporates a register board that facilitates the inclusion of inkjetting or similar equipment. Other than creasing, the Graphic Whizard range will perforate, slit and with some models, number.
Grant says that T.S. Wilson’s willingness to go the extra mile was one of the factors that convinced Fastfold to buy the Finishmaster 150. The other was T.S. Wilson’s exemplary record.
“We have dealt with T.S. Wilson in the past and have always received exemplary service and backup. They are always looking after us and checking to make sure everything is as it should be.”
