Currie signs for massive PacPrint stand

Currie has traditionally been one of the larger exhibitors at the show, and the organisers will be breathing easier today now that the company has committed to the May event. PacPrint was rocked when Heidelberg announced last year that it wasn’t coming.

However there has been no flight by other exhibitors, so the show now looks like it will have most of the major names fomr the supply stand with booths and kit on the floor.

Print trade shows are currently as hot topic as Ipex, the biggest English language print show in the world, has faced a slew of withdrawals over the last two months, forcing its owners to reposition the event as a business show.

Phillip Rennell, sales and marketing diretcor at Currie says, “There’s no doubt the past few years have been enormously challenging for everyone whose life is print and graphic communications,” he acknowledges, “but, if current indications are correct, the local market looks set for a more positive period in the short to medium term so PacPrint13 comes at an ideal time.”

On their high-profile central stand at PacPrint13, Currie Group plans to create a ‘complete customer experience’ with solutions from a number of high profile partners including HP, Horizon, Scodix and others.

“Our strong partnership with HP will be evident in our PacPrint display, which will include a wide range of HP presses,” Rennell confirms. “The HP Indigo will be at the heart of this experience and visitors to PacPrint13 will have their first opportunity to see the HP Indigo 10000 in action – it’s a big format and let’s just say it will be displayed in a big way! We’ll also be demonstrating a range of label, packaging, photo and publishing applications from the range.”

Mark Daws, Currie Group’s HP Labels and Packaging sales manager, told Australian Printer that the Currie Group will be showcasing a wide variety of HP equipment at PrintPac13. After a successful ten year partnership The Currie Group was reappointed as the distributer for HP Indigo in Australia and New Zealand in July last year.

There have already been 100 companies that have confirmed their attendance to PacPrint13, which include Kodak, Fuji Xerox, Agfa and Komori; all four are companies that have withdrawn from Ipex 2014.

Other companies who will be exhibiting at PacPrint13 include Ferag, BJ Ball, Anitech, Lanier, SAS Signage, Agfa, Lanier and Positive Camtec.

PacPrint13 will be held from May 21-25 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
