KW Doggett has put twelve rescue dogs in the frame for its 2015 calendar in honour of Pet Rescue Australia, and to celebrate its 40 years in the business. To mark the occasion the paper giant called in Marta Roca, creative director of online dog and culture magazine Four&Sons, two students and photographer James Geer. With the help of RMIT design graduates Caroline Beard and Anthony Stephens Doggett canvassed its Victorian customers looking for talent, specifically dogs that had been rescued from shelters – and narrowed down 12 pinups from 200 entries.

February’s underdog: 2015 Doggett calendar
Catherine Doggett, national marketing and sustainability manager, says, “The 2015 calendar is definitely one of the favourites so far. We are pretty nuts about dogs and this calendar certainly lets them shine. “Every year I think they cannot possibly top the last, but Marta, James, Anthony and Caroline have produced a truly beautiful piece. “I especially love the big yawn on Sprocket and the performance by Shultz. He rocked up at the shoot and gave us his best ‘blue steel’. “Surprisingly, most of the dogs were at ease in front of the camera – testament to their new, loving owners.” The 2015 calendar is printed UV offset on Strathmore Super Smooth Ultimate White 176gsm by Immij, with binding by Marvel Book Binding. STS Creative Printers screen printed the cover on Rives Tradition Poison Black 250gsm. A credits page lists a photo and story about each dog and their owners. Customers are encouraged to use #underdogs2015 when posting pictures of the calendar on social media. And those following the company’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages will get the chance to win one of 10 calendars being given away. Competition opens on Monday 15 December 2014.
