DPA fails with millions in debt

Industry sources say it’s unlikely DPA creditors – which include the Australian Tax office, Vega Press, ASF and Fuji Xerox – will redeem the money owed after DPA directors have payed off their bank debt.

Bruce Peddlesden, owner of On Demand told Australian Printer that while his business will be unaffected by the liquidation, and DPA staff will remain employed in his operation, it’s a disappointing outcome for the local industry.

He says, “I’m sorry to see a number of good companies affected by it. A lot of hard working companies are going to lose a lot of money.”

Peddlesden, who bought the DPA business, staff and assets but not the actual company, said the liquidation was not a surprise, as there was talk in the local industry of DPA not paying their bills and debts on time.

He says, “We need to stop this sort of thing happening in our industry. It’s not something we should put up with.”
