While Albrecht Bolza-Schünemann, president of drupa in 2000, 2004 and 2008, did not wish to stand for re-election, the committee says Martin Weickenmeier symbolises the continuity and consistent development of drupa as the leading global fair for its sector.
Since drupa 2004, Weickenmeier, 54 who was previously vice-president and chairman of the admissions committee says, “I am delighted to assume the presidency at such an exciting time. Our sector is developing at a rapid pace and drupa 2012 will once again be a key milestone.”
The Committee also unanimously voted Jürgen Vutz, CEO Windmöller & Hölscher KG, vice-president and thus chairman of the admissions committee. Rolf Schwarz, President of the German Printing and Media Industries Federation, was confirmed in his capacity as Second Vice-President.
The 23-member drupa Committee is responsible for the key policy decisions on the print media fair drupa. It is made up of representatives from the exhibiting industry and represents the entire technology spectrum at drupa – from pre-media through to printing up to further processing, packaging production and paper processing.
In addition to these personnel changes, the Committee also set the key dates for drupa 2012. The public countdown to the preparation for the 15th drupa will begin this November in connection with the All in Print in Shanghai.
