Drupa unwrapped Brisbane launch a hit

Neal McLary, Queensland general manager for Printing Industries says, “We had a good array of speakers and it was quite obvious that there are many print company owners very interested in the innovation that has come out of drupa and how this may benefit their business in years to come.”

McLary says, “A highlight was a preview from some of the suppliers into what is likely to be on show at PacPrint in Melbourne next year as Australia stages its own mini version of drupa.”

He adds, “Our Queensland 2007 Apprentice of the Year, Adam Murphy, also provided a younger person’s perspective on drupa having attended the event as part of the apprentice award and visited establishments in other parts of Europe.”

McLary says all the speakers should be commended for their insightful presentations.

These included Tim Saleeba, business unit manager – document printing for Océ; Garry Muratore, regional marketing manager for AGFA; Brett Maishman, national commercial print business manager for Fuji Xerox; Phillip Rennell, digital division general manager for Curry Group, Sean Fogarty, Queensland account manager for Heidelberg and Napil Abdel, regional manager of Tharstern Australia.

The roadshow moves to Melbourne next week with a breakfast event on Wednesday July 16 from 7am at the Novatel Hotel.

Printing Industries says the Melbourne event would also feature the Printer’s Perspective on drupa presented by Shane Smithe, general manager Mt Waverley and Docklands for GEON; Trevor Hone, managing director of Avon Graphics and Mark Randles, general manager of Print Bound.
