Ecolean coming down under

DEPS will be distributing the Ecolean liquid packaging system – LeanPack – in Australia and New Zealand.

DEPS says that as the worldwide supply of chalk is virtually limitless its extraction involves no chemical processes and manufacturing requires little process energy, resulting in a packaging material that has a low environmental impact.

LeanPack is a packaging system for liquid foods. The new packaging design gives the products a higher shelf profile. The LeanPack-system can be used by all producers whatever their size and is therefore suitable for everything from niche to volume products. The system includes both the packages and a cost effective, highly reliable filling machine. Since its foundation in 1996 Ecolean has delivered almost 140 filling machines all over Europe and Asia.

DEPS Ltd in New Zealand and Australia was appointed as the exclusive agent for LeanPack, which is a stand-up-pouch in various sizes for milk, juice, drinking yoghurt etc. DEPS plan to market this product to major food processors as it believes it gives their product an added value.
