Logic SQL version 22.05 will offer first-time JDF support, tighter integration with PrinterSite Fulfilment and Exchange, and greater workflow and customisation capabilities.
EFI Logic SQL combines end-to-end integration of the print production process with a powerful set of data collection tools, with applications covering every business function from estimating to billing, order entry to shipping, purchasing, inventory control, finished goods, accounting and more.
This release of Logic will include the first phase of JDF support, enabling job specifications and machine set-up information to be passed to other software and equipment, helping print businesses collect, share, analyse and respond to information in real time.
Via JDF, Logic will have connectivity to Fiery print controllers, pre-press and offset press support. EFI follows the CIP4 ICS protocol support for JDF.
As part of the ongoing integration of all EFI MIS solutions with add-on products, Logic customers using PrinterSite Fulfilment will have more robust Web order functionality, with direct order jobs and partial shipments now supported.
PrinterSite Fulfilment is EFI’s web-based, client-facing module that helps printers streamline inventory management and offer value-added online fulfilment ordering services to customers.
For PrinterSite Exchange users, quotes will automatically be generated for orders placed on a PrinterSite Exchange website. The Logic and PrinterSite Exchange integration allows printers’ customers to submit jobs from the popular web application, and then enables the printing plant to manage the planning, production, scheduling, invoicing and accounting of those jobs from within the Logic MIS environment.
Version 22.05 will also have more robust integration with PrintFlow dynamic scheduling to achieve seamless data flow across all parts of the printing operation.
In addition to integration enhancements, the new version will have an alteration workflow that tracks alterations against jobs inside of Logic. Communication with the customer and the production floor, as well as invoicing, is handled within the workflow. The alteration workflow introduces customer supported rate schedules to manage billable changes.
Version 22.05 also builds on the robust customisation capabilities from the previous releases, with the ability to customise the database, the applications, the reporting inside Logic, and the use of XML imports.
Ian Pulrang, leader of EFI’s Asia-Pacific MIS team and Asia Pacific sales development manager, said: “Logic continues to set the standard for enhancements and features that not only streamline business management for our customers but enable them to realise greater profitability.
“This upcoming release has the greatest integration to date with EFI’s add-on products, along with first-ever JDF support, ensuring that Logic stays current with our customers’ needs.”
Version 22.05 is expected to ship in Q3.
