CIP4 is an international group responsible for defining an industry standard to simplify information exchange between different applications in the graphic arts industry and Ford has been awarded certification as part of a CIP4 initiative known as the Expert Certification Program.
To get his JDF Expert Certificate, Ford underwent 13 separate training modules and passed a final four-hour examination addressing specific topics associated with JDF technology.
As an internationally recognised JDF Expert, Ford will now lead EFI’s efforts to help its customers implement JDF-based automated processes and computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) into their operations. Additionally, his JDF certification allows him to educate EFI customers through: process automation, the JDF environment, reading JDF as well as new software and equipment.
Commenting about the certification Ford says, “JDF is a serious consideration for Australian print providers when purchasing equipment and software.”
“As competition from Asia increases, the ability to improve workflows, productivity and customer service helps Australian printers offer improved service and quality, while helping to minimise cost of production. JDF offers benefits that can significantly transform business processes,” he says.
According to Ford, a company is better off choosing a provider such as EFI, with a clear and defined JDF strategy – to ensure the future success of the organisation. He says EFI is committed to providing the most advanced solutions for its customers.
“JDF is often perceived as a new technology, he explains, “when in reality it’s a new common language.”
“EFI is committed to providing the industry’s most advanced, innovative MIS solutions, based upon a true understanding of the individual elements of our customer’s systems and procedures, says Ford.
Director of sales at EFI Asia Pacific, Eric Holtsmark says by continuing to increase the knowledge of its sales specialists, EFI can help customers make the right decisions to consistently improve their business operations.
“By offering detailed insight into JDF technology, we can help our customers make informed purchasing decisions when it comes to process automation prepress, printing and finishing technology,” he says.
