Jeff Morris, production manager, Elna Press, examined a number of anilox cleaning systems and carefully weighed the pros and cons of each system, paying particular attention to how well each system cleaned the anilox and the potential for damage to the anilox.
In the end Jeff decided to go with the Flexo Wash unit from local partner Jet Technologies, due in main to Flexo Wash’s philosophy of prevention instead of cure.
Flexo Wash have designed an anilox cleaning system which not only provides a deep clean, but is also gentle removing any potential for damage to the anilox meaning that the Flexo Wash anilox cleaner can be used every day to keep the anilox roller clean and performing as if new.
The Flexo Wash FW993 has been in place at Elna Press since November 2011 and to date the unit has not missed beat, whilst reducing down time due to clogged, stained or dirty anilox.
Darryl Wilson, product manager-print and finishing, Jet Technologies says, “The quick and gentle cleaning process leaves the anilox rolls totally clean and ready for immediate use after just 10-20 minutes cleaning cycle without causing any wear or tear on rolls. This makes it possible to keep your anilox rolls totally clean at all times ensuring a constant and high print quality. Flexo Wash believe that by taking proactive preventative action by cleaning the anilox rollers immediately after use provides consistent results on press day in day out.”
Founded in 1958, Elna Press has grown to become one of Australia’s oldest and most respected specialist label manufacturers.
