The result will be the seamless integration of the ICS Remote Director virtual proofing solution with Enfocus’ PitStop Automate product, allowing creative professionals to generate colour-controlled collaborative virtual proofs without leaving the PitStop Automate software environment.
Once the Remote Director virtual proof is created, all parties in the approval cycle can be invited to view the proofs, and assigned permissions to comment, annotate and confirm sign-off.
Remote Director ensures that all parties involved in the remote virtual proofing process are working with accurately and equally calibrated monitors, and notifies the generator of the proof of all responses via email.
Headquartered in New York City, ICS, Inc. has been a pioneer of colour-accurate remote virtual proofing solutions since 2000, and has an established customer base in North America and the UK, with ambitious expansion plans in continental Europe and Asia via a growing network of independent distributors.
Patrick van Dam, Executive VP, Worldwide Sales & Marketing at Enfocus explains the significance of the technology partnership with ICS,
“In introducing PitStop Automate, our mission has been to provide professionals at all stages in the publishing supply chain with easy-to-use, low-cost automation tools that help them to streamline production without the need for significant capital investment in high-end workflow management systems.
“PitStop Automate was designed from the ground up to be easy to use, and to integrate closely with Acrobat(r) Distiller(r). By working with ICS to integrate Remote Director, we can provide brand owners, creative publishers and printers with an even more compelling suite of automation tools, all accessible within the same simple and familiar user interface.”
Dan Caldwell, VP Operations at ICS, Inc. adds, “Our initiative with Enfocus is a major step towards facilitating automation of remote virtual proofing in customers’ workflows, and establishing Remote Director in Europe.
“Cultural resistance to calibrated monitor proofing has been strong, but the concept is well-proven now. The fact that it will now be possible to automate the creation and distribution of a virtual proof gives our industry an unmissable opportunity to eliminate the last vestige of the analogue workflow in an otherwise digital world,” says Caldwell.
.
The advantages are clear; by eliminating hard proofs, all parties in the production chain can benefit from greater consistency, improved efficiency, shorter cycle times and reduced administrative costs.”
Enfocus is a brand in PDF and production automation technology. From start to finish, Enfocus is essential to designers, printers and publishers who want to work in a truly reliable, automated production environment.
