Ezibinder auction a flop

Closed binding manufacturer Ezibinder held its auction this week, which Michael Dennis, managing director says, “was pretty miserable.”

“Mainly scrap dealers turned up,” Dennis says.

He says he is taking most of the welding machines apart for more scrap. Not everything has been taken, Dennis says with one piece he was hoping would be sold still on the market.

“There is only one unit that has not been sold which is most important. It is a plastic coil manufacturer and inserter, its packs a high-speed punch. Worth $30,000, someone might be interested, the rest of the equipment has gone,” he says.

He says the news of Ezibinder closing has raised interest from prospective buyers.

Ezibinder was manufacturing a wide range of plastic products for conferences and conventions, satchels in various styles and combinations of pockets for sales aids, price lists and instructional manuals.

Ezibinder has closed after being open for 60 years due to financial hardships. The auction was held at the premises by Slatterys Auctions.

They will vacate the premises at the end of the month.
