Based at new manufacturing facilities in Smithfield, Sydney, the new division will focus solely on the ink market in Australia and will also establish warehouse and mixing facilities in Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Brisbane. In Melbourne, Ferag’s new premises will also incorporate mixing facilities.
According to Ferag Australia managing director Markus Haefeli, the only way for Ferag to Succeed in the market was to become more than just an ink supplier.
“That’s why we’ve created this new division dedicated entirely to ink. We employ 26 personnel hand-picked from the ink industry and our general manager, Ray Toal, formerly of Toyo, is an experienced ink professional,” explains Haefeli.
Ferag will also push this ink, which is traditionally known in Australia as a quality sheetfed ink, into the local web market. Haefeli says that the effort his company is putting into the inks division underlines Ferag’s commitment to expand its product offering beyond mailing and finishing equipment to consumables and equipment for both sheetfed and web printing.
