Ferag says it is evident that supplement volumes are on the rise with European newspapers, with inserting running at 16 products and more per edition. At the same time, the ever deepening trend towards zoning means frequent supplement changes. Solutions are required for efficient and transparent insert management on the one hand, and the control of increasingly complex sequences in the inserting process, bundle formation and addressing on the other.
In the Ferag system, these tasks are the responsibility of the PostPressManagementSystem (PPM) and LineMaster. With its interfaces to all relevant company departments, the PPM secures organisation on the upper level while LineMaster sees to the control of the separate lines.
Key features are the fully automatic zoned inserting process and route-oriented bundle formation with layer- and bundle-wise allocation of production to the MultiStack stack turner. Ferag is presenting LineMaster with a completely redesigned user interface. A summary of the main functions appears on the screen to support operators with the quick and easy configuration and operation of the line while providing effective assistance with production monitoring
