Finsbury Green takes out chain of custody award at FSC event

Finsbury Green was one of the first adopters of the FSC Chain of Custody certification in Australia in 2006 and continues to be a very strong promoter of FSC paper through many activities including the Green Paper Guide, according to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

This award is also on the back of August’s ACCA Sustainability Reporting 2008 Awards, where Finsbury Green was awarded winner of the Commendation – SME sector, for it’s 2008 Sustainability Report.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is an international organisation that has promoted transparency in reporting the impact of business activities on sustainable development since 1991. Finsbury Green was one of 10 winners from 77 entries, the majority of who are large Australian corporations, to win this commendation.

The ACCA awards represent the largest and most prestigious sustainability reporting review in Australian and New Zealand. A panel of experts assess the awards, with each judge dedicating 150 hours to the task.

This award validates Finsbury Green as the acknowledged leader of sustainable practice in the Australian printing industry, adding it’s ninth environment/sustainability awards to its trophy cabinet, according to the FSC. The 2008 Sustainability Report was Finsbury Green’s fifth.

The Forest Stewardship Council is a not for profit international organisation, that is the highest and most trustworthy certification for paper and timber products. FSC is well established internationally with 110 million hectares certified across 81 countries.
