Finsbury Printing and Finsbury Solutions will now sit under the one umbrella name, Finsbury Green, a move the company says will better reflect the organisation's commitment towards environmental sustainability.
The evolution of the new Finsbury Green brand has been a decade in the making. Credited as the first carbon neutral printer in Australia, Finsbury Green claims it is a stand-alone leader in the industry when it comes to environmental printing practise.
According to Finsbury Green's CEO, Peter Orel, the name change better reflects the industry leadership position held by the business, he says: "It makes sense that the organisation's name demonstrates our business focus and commitment to environmental sustainability."
Recognising the urgency of tackling environmental impacts in 1998, Finsbury Green has
worked towards satisfying two main criteria – good business and good environmental
outcomes – whilst actively pursing a policy of alleviating environmental impacts.
"We consider ourselves to be 100 per cent green. We have so much confidence in our
practises that we can genuinely call everything we do green," says Mr Orel, "Our initial progression towards becoming green was driven by the fact that it was good for
business. It actually decreased our operation costs, and streamlined many of our processes."
Since announcing its first environmental brand in 2002, the 34-year-old business has been reaping the rewards, from both a financial and reputation point of view. Finsbury Green has won a staggering 333 international, national and regional print awards, along with six environmental awards. Throughout this time the organisation has almost tripled its revenue.According to Orel, Finsbury Green, works with the motto 'what you don't measure you cannot control'.
As a result, Finsbury Green says it is the only printing company in Australia to publish a fully audited Sustainability Report of it activities and is one of the first companies in Australia to become Forest Stewardship Council, Chain of Custody certified.
In addition, the organisation is constantly working towards maintaining and improving its ISO certifications. From a marketing perspective, Orel says, "We are confident that the new brand will lend itself to further differentiation between ourselves and our competitors."
As the new brand suggests, Finsbury Green is committed to a sustainable future and will continue to set new environmental benchmarks.
