Focus Print makes offer on Longbeach

Focus Print Group owner Mark Shergill has reportedly thrown his hat into the ring to purchase collapsed Melbourne digital printer Longbeach Printing.

Shergill has confirmed he has made an offer on the business, but says the deal may fall through due to difficulty with the bank.

If successful, the deal would become Shergill’s eleventh acquisition since he took over Focus Print Group in 2014.

The group’s most recent acquisition occurred in May when it rescued troubled sheetfed printer Sydney Allen for an undisclosed sum.

Longbeach liquidator Timothy Holden from Foremans Business Services is yet to confirm any offers on the business and has given little information on its position since it collapsed in August.

Longbeach was owned by Michael Wu, whose print empire toppled shortly after he was dismissed by business partners Moody and Abbey Aboughattas from their Docklands Ability Group.

Wu’s Longbeach collapsed shortly after his dismissal then was followed by the downfall of Wu’s On Demand a week later.
