Former owners of M&M Binders act over $150,000 debt

However, it seems that the company being liquidated has not been trading for years and is a separate entity from M&M Binders, an active company with a registered address in Mount Waverley, Melbourne that has the same former owners.

M&M Binders is claimed to be Australia’s largest commercial bookbinder and is part of the PrintLinx group of companies.

Frank Todisco, former managing director of the PrintLinx group, told ProPrint that the previous owners of M&M Binders were suing M&M Binders Pty Ltd over a $150,000 debt.

The previous owners of M&M Binders are believed to be Kevin Meddings and Pierre Michaud, who signed the winding-up order that was submitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria on 10 May 2010.

Todisco said: “They have sued M&M Binders Pty Ltd and we chose not to defend it, just to let it go, because M&M Binders Pty Ltd hasn’t traded for the last five years,” said Todisco.

He claimed that he was no longer a director or shareholder of PrintLinx but would continue to work for PrintLinx “on a voluntary basis”.

Pierre Michaud, now retired, confirmed to ProPrint that the court had ordered M&M Binders Pty Ltd to pay the outstanding debt, though declined to comment further as the “solicitor and liquidator now have to work that out”.

The winding-up order was lodged by Samala Nancarrow, a solicitor at Velos Lawyers. The appointed liquidator is Craig Bolwell of Foremans Business Advisors.

Kevin Meddings had not responded at time of publication.
