From the aisles of drupa: print is the subject, not the battlefield

Every vendor has come to town with new solutions. HP has an enormous area of displays, and will probably vie with Heidelberg at the next drupa for the title of largest exhibitor, in stand area at least. The space has been well used, too, for an extravagant panorama of digital print’s ever-broadening workspace.

New adventures in inkjet can be found in hall 8b, with side by side, Xerox, Fujifilm and Screen showing completely new engines, and almost as importantly, new finishing options like spot varnishing and much more.

Cooperation between vendors in technology alliances is quite evident at the show, as you’d think would be the only viable direction the industry can take. And finally the offset/digital divide appears dead and buried; print is the subject, not the battlefield.
