Fuji Xerox adds new Fiery front ends

Fuji Xerox will launch two new EFI Fiery digital front end (DFE) servers for its new Versant 80 digital press. Yamazaki Toru, general manager of production Go-To-Market at Fuji Xerox, says the Fuji Xerox EX 80 and EX-i 80 print servers, powered by Fiery, include features for ‘complex and impactful imaging.’ He says, “High image quality has always been one of the most important criteria customers use to evaluate a printing solution. The Fuji Xerox Versant 80 Press equipped with the new Fiery powered print servers offers enhanced representation of ultra smooth gradients, highlights, and shadows realised with 10-bit rendering tone correction.

“Extensive EFI ColorWise colour management tools make it possible to produce consistently brilliant output.” John Henze, vice president of marketing with EFI Fiery, says the new servers use the latest Fiery platform, FS150 Pro, to offer “faster processing, award-winning quality and easier-to-use, automated workflows.” EFI says the DFE is the first to earn a 100 per cent perfect pass label from the VIGC PDF rip audit. The EX and EX-i 80 print servers feature Fiery Ultra Smooth Gradients, which uses a 10-bit, 1200dpi processing technology at the digital front end. First seen in the two Fiery servers driving the Fuji Xerox Versant 2100 Press, EFI says the technology helps eliminate stair stepped gradient shades common in digital printing vector images. The EX 80 is suited to more demanding print environments as it supports the Adobe PDF print engine version 3.0 and, says EFI, offers Fiery options for make-ready, colour correction, file troubleshooting and workflow integration. Less-demanding environments can take advantage of a lower cost of entry while still reaping the benefits of a Fiery-powered workflow with the EX-i 80 print server. Both versions are available to the Asia Pacific market now from Fuji Xerox and resellers.
