“It is a worldwide community of more than 340 leading digital print providers including many industry’s pioneers”, says Hiroshi Kurihara, corporate vice president of Fuji Xerox. “The Programme gives members opportunities to grow their business through a global network of printers equipped with the latest digital technologies.”
In the midst of globalisation, more communication, faster job turnaround, shorter print runs, and advanced knowledge are required to meet and forecast customers’ needs as well as to beat fierce competition. In addition to this wave of globalisation, the graphic arts industry has been experiencing another seismic change: digital transition. The key challenge is to obtain expertise and know-how in areas such as business management, marketing, sales and technical operations that are effective amid the new trends.
“This Programme is beneficial for both our customers and Fuji Xerox”, says Murray Miskelly, business development manager, Production Systems Group, Fuji Xerox New Zealand. “By providing the best graphic arts practitioners in this country with opportunities to share knowledge and develop relationships internationally, we can also tap into their advanced expertise and know-how, hone our digital printing skills and then pass them on to our customers. This is the new business of printing which makes us grow together”.
Since its launch in 2000 at Drupa, one of the world’s largest trade shows for the printing and paper industries, the Xerox Worldwide Premier Partner Programme has been enjoying great success in attracting members, with more than 300 enterprises worldwide. MThe members have re-positioned themselves from print providers to Xerox communications partners who skilfully handle large black-and-white and/or colour print volumes, as well as manage complex print and web applications to meet their customers’ demands for print, and document management and fulfilment services.
The Asia-Pacific launch of the Xerox Worldwide Premier Partners Programme is another sign that Fuji Xerox is fully committed to the emerging trend of digital printing. This announcement comes soon after the opening of the latest Fuji Xerox Executive Print Innovation Centre (epicenter) in Singapore in November.
Established to facilitate industry interaction and the co-development of solutions with Fuji Xerox customers, the Singapore epicenter is the third of four epicenters in the Asia-Pacific region, after similar installations in Sydney and Tokyo. The fourth epicenter, to be located in Shanghai, is scheduled to open early 2005.
