Fuji Xerox to present profile at PacPrint

Simon Lane, national manager, Production Services Business, Fuji Xerox Australia says, “Visitors will be able to see the entire workflow and production process of a variety of finished applications, all of which can be used to create new revenue streams.”

According to Lane, the important denominator of the showcased applications is their reproduction capability across a range of Fuji Xerox digital production printers. He says, ““Each application demonstrates the seamless interoperability of Fuji Xerox’s technology solutions. From a visitor to the stand who has no prior digital print experience and is interested in entry-level digital equipment; to the experienced digital print provider exploring the benefits of the Xerox iGen4 production press, the showcased applications are available for everyone seeking to generate business.”

At PacPrint 09, Fuji Xerox Australia’s key application zones will cover book publishing, one to one communication, web to print, customised communications and specialty applications including photobooks, transpromo and security printing.

Fuji Xerox will demonstrate its automated book printing solution, with finished books printed on the Xerox iGen4 digital production press and the Bourg Book Factory, driven by Fuji Xerox FreeFlow Express to Print and FreeFlow Process Manager.

Lane says, ”This technology demonstrates that books can be efficiently produced in-line, with minimal operator intervention. We can automatically pre-flight the file, impose, send it to the printer and have finished books being produced within a few minutes of making the decision to print them. It can be one book, 100 books or 1000 books – the decision on quantity makes little difference to the cost.”

On the stand, visitors can view a live multi-channel marketing campaign for a telecommunications provider, demonstrating the power of XMPie uDirect and XMPie’s new uProduce Marketing Console.

“With XMPie variable data software, users can produce cross-channel, powerfully-personalised communications resulting in significantly higher response rates to direct marketing programs,” says Lane,
“With the new uProduce Marketing Console, users are able to track and report, piece by piece, all of the elements that drive a cross media direct mail campaign while it’s happening, not just the end result.”

One of the hottest topics at the show will be web to print, and by demonstrating FreeFlow Web Services visitors at the Fuji Xerox stand will be able to order brochures, postcards and business cards powered by an online storefront at the Web To Print pod. According to Lane, enabling print customer to submit new jobs and reorder existing ones in a secure online environment enhances productivity and revenue opportunities. He says, “FreeFlow Web Services enables jobs to be moved into production more quickly, reducing errors and streamlining the fulfilment process. It also offers two-way status and notification capabilities, enhancing communications with your customers, providing 24/7 service without 24/7 staffing. Overall it increases customer value and loyalty, building future print demand.”

Visitors will be able to take away a personalised children’s activity book printed on the 700 Digital Color Press and customised using XMPie uStore. “A great opportunity to take a gift home for the kids,” said Lane. “When we produced a children’s colouring-in book at PrintEx07, we could barely keep up with demand.”

With protection of sensitive documents a growing concern, Fuji Xerox is demonstrating exclusive fraud-resistant specialty imaging effects for static and variable jobs.

Lane says, “These specialty imaging text effects can only be printed with FreeFlow Print Server in combination with FreeFlow software – any other print server will print them as normal text. This imaging feature greatly enhances print security.”

Specialty imaging texts being demonstrated by Fuji Xerox at PacPrint 09 include MicroText marks – text printed at smaller than one point size, readable only with a loupe or magnifying glass. Provides additional security to invoices, coupons, and other fraud-sensitive applications.

Also included are correlation marks is printed text that is only visible when superimposed by a key overlay. Provides an extra level of authentication for lottery tickets, invitations, and other documents requiring an authenticity check. Finally glossmark text is printed text that is not visible in straight-on view, but becomes visible under inclined illumination. Provides an extra layer of protection against document fraud in amusement park tickets, coupons, and general admission passes.

Fuji Xerox Australia and FUJIFILM Australia will share a joint stand at PacPrint 09. All attendees are invited to the stand’s central cafe to converse and connect throughout the exhibition.
