Fujifilm sells first Inca S20 in region to retail printer

The Inca Onset S20, which is a high-production flatbed printer, is heading to the Melbourne site of Retail Communications, which specialises in digital print and point-of-sale material and also has a site in Sydney.

Retail Communications owner Mark Archibald told the Daily he had been impressed by the combination of speed and quality of the Onset S20.

He was glad to be an early adopter. “We didn’t want to be a follower. Other people have machines from HP or Agfa, but we just wanted a point of difference. We wanted to go and see what machine were out there, not what other people had but what we needed.”

Michael Livris, Fujifilm’s business development manager for hardware, said it was part of a renewed push of the UK-based wide-format manufacturer.

“Inca is a major focus for us and we are committing a lot of resources. We have sent clients overseas to view the platforms.

He added that as much as Fujifilm would like to show the heavy-duty Onset S20 at PrintEx, “we just don’t have the space”.

What visitors to the stand will find is information and demos of CloudNet. There has been a lot of talk about cloud computing, and Fujifilm is out in front when it comes to delivering these services to the printing industry.

“CloudNet can turn printers into managers of multi-channel content which helps them to help their customers,” said Peter Irwin, Fujifilm Australia’s graphics manager for CloudNet.

CloudNet has been trialled by a group of six local printers, including Sands Print in Melbourne
Fujifilm.
