
The Galley Club says, “There were just too few of us who are willing to sort books, add up score sheets, organise seating plans and phone sponsors for support this year.”
However this does not spell the end of the Galley Club, despite no gala dinner and no trophies for 2013.
The Galley Club hopes to revive the awards next year, and thanks its sponsors and all who have supported them in the last.
The Galley Club says, “We sincerely believe that production excellence and quality have a value in print and digital book and magazine publishing. Therefore we will call for your support next January.”
There will be smaller events organised by The Galley Club, including a talk by publishing guru Bo Sacks, who is coming to Australia in July WHAT DATE AND WHERE and will discuss the future of publishing.
Sacks is a member of the publishing hall of fame.
