Awarded full scholarships are Graham Trickey (Hannan Print), Mathew Collins (Spicers Paper) and Gus Balbontin (Lonely Planet). On the strength of their applications, two part scholarships have been awarded to Jane Stokie (McPherson Media Group) and Kelly Bourke (SOS Print & Media Group).
“Once again the recipients of the GAMAA Scholarship are representative of the broad interests that make up today’s industry”, says Darke. “The calibre of applicants made the final decision a difficult one, and we are extremely pleased to offer the scholarship to such outstanding candidates”.
The GAMAA Education Scholarship Programme provides middle to senior managers currently working in the printing and graphic technologies industries with an opportunity to advance their leadership and business management skills.
A unique, and integral, element of the GAMAA programme is the residential workshops developed by GAMAA in conjunction with the Melbourne Business School, a division of the University of Melbourne (MBS).
These workshops are designed to expose participants to a range of leadership skills and processes that will challenge their working practices and provide them with the tools to develop strategies for the future.
“Our 2005 workshop programme will be announced early in the new year. We are once again working with leading academics to formulate a programme that provides participants with the opportunity to access the latest thinking and methodology in the realm of leadership skills today”.
The 2005 students will join the continuing 2003 and 2004 scholarship recipients in attending the two compulsory residential workshops which will also be offered to the industry.
“On behalf of GAMAA I congratulate the successful 2005 scholarship recipients and wish them well in their academic pursuits”, concludes Darke.
