GBC and Heidelberg sign finishing agreement

The deal, which was finalised at PrinEx, will add GBC’s range of Duplo card cutter, creasers, booklet makers, GBC laminators and Multigraf folders to Heidelberg’s offering to both the digital and offset print markets within ANZ along with their digital print engines and offset presses.

Commenting on the deal Alastair Hadley, general manager of sales, marketing and product management at Heidelberg ANZ says, “When we are selling to conventional printers they generally have their own bindery, but with our digital customers we needed to be able to offer them finishing solutions, so GBC was an obvious fit for us.”

Also commenting, Stuart Macdonald, managing director of GBC says, “Who better to form a partnership with than Heidelberg? These days, a printer can’t just be exclusively digital or offset, and I believe this agreement is helping to bridge the gap between the two technologies.”

A statement from Heidelberg outlines that its digital print customers can now source the complete print and finishing solutions from one vendor, thereby getting better value for their dollar, coupled with the expertise and knowledge of Heidelberg for their business.

The statement continues, “This partnership is a testament to Heidelberg’s trust in GBC’s product offerings and also GBC’s long term commitment to the digital print market.”
