GBC introduces new digital copy printer

GBC is becoming an increasingly active supplier in the digital print arena, highlighted by its recent purchase of well established finishing equipment supplier AE Hudson.

The additional printer to GBC's already extensive range of digital duplicators – the DP-S850 copy printer – is a high volume, 600x600dpi, A3 printer with a built-in book scanner and computer interface. Part of the High Definition Imaging (HDi) range, the DP-S850 utilises a combination of master material, high carbon soy ink and quality thermal heads which produces outstanding prints with rich unbroken solids and excellent half tones.

It can print on paper, card and even window-faced envelopes due to its hardwearing feed mechanism and heat-free print process, at speeds up to a blistering 150 pages per minute, and with energy consumption of just 240W. The cost-per-copy on the Duplo DP-S850 falls as the duplication run increases, undercutting more conventional high-volume printers and photocopiers by as much as 75 per cent on consumables and energy. Furthermore the versatile platen top can scan from books as well as single sheets. The built-in book shadow erasure function means when scanning from a book, the spine shadow can be removed.

For organisations frequently producing more than 30 copies of a single document, the Duplo DP-S850 is an ideal solution, offering economy, versatility and productivity. The excellent engineering and simple design yields consistent reliability with an output of more than a million prints a year regarded as normal usage.

The Duplo DP-S850 copy printer comes with a user friendly touch screen control panel which guides the operator through the simple printing process.

Aside from the DP-S850, GBC will also be launching the new DP-S550 which also produces high print resolution of 300x600dpi and prints at a speed of 150 pages per minute.
