Get Connected, is a co-operative Asia-Pacific event, providing a medium for information exchange and providing delegates with knowledge on how to further increase communication and the development of printing industries throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Gunawardane says, Australia has made it possible for Sri Lanka to host the conference to coincide with the Sri Lanka Association of Printer’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.
“We are very grateful for,” he says. “We really want to welcome our Australian colleagues and have them share our hospitality at this special time for us,” says Gunawardane.
“We have created a series of entertaining and informative events around our celebrations of which the Get Connected conference is an integral part,” says Gunawardane.
Get Connected 2006 promises to be an informative and enlightening conglomeration of events with a truly international field of delegates set to attend. This year it brings together; the AsianPacific Graphic Arts Technology Forum, the Print 2006 exhibition as well as the Sri Lanka Association of Printer’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.
“Each event makes a distinctive contribution through the knowledge, recognition and networking that it provides for everyone,” says Gunawardane.
“We will also hold a Printer’s Ball Gala Dinner to celebrate the Golden Jubilee attended by all the elite in the Print Industries. Our speaker program will feature keynote presentations by eminent speakers and, of course, we have a print products exhibition showing the best of print by the award winning members of Sri Lanka Association of Printers,” he says.
Get Connected will be the meeting place for a multinational mix of printing industries from Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The goal of the event is to encourage industry sustainability through technology and innovative practices.
Gunawardane says visitors should not be concerned about security incidents in other parts of Sri Lanka affecting the proceedings of the events.
“These are local issues and the parties involved do not want to upset the international community by disrupting these kinds of international activities,” he says.
