Hannanprint scores DJ’s mag contract

Web offset printer Hannanprint has won the printing contract for the new David Jones seasonal magazine following a competitive tender process held through publisher agency Medium Rare.

The deal will see Hannanprint handling the quarterly print run, which is set to start at 250,000 per seasonal magazine.

Medium Rare managing director Gerard Reynolds says Hannanprint was chosen through the tender process due to a ‘combination of quality and pricing’, and printing is slated to begin this August.

Hannanprint, which is owned by parent company IPMG, also prints for high-profile magazine and catalogue clients such as Woolworths and furniture retailer Freedom. It is the web offset printing arm of the print giant.

ProPrint contacted Hannanprint managing director Adrian O’Conner for comment however he was unavailable. The value of the contract or how long Hannan will provide the printing for David Jones at this stage remains commercial-in-confidence.

Medium Rare will use content manager Adsend to direct mail the print mags to selected customers and supply David Jones stores around Australia.
