Heidelberg and its subsidiary Gallus, has created a range of solutions for defect-free, industrialised folding carton and label production.

These solutions and measures will be aimed at automating quality assurance and control, all integrated in the entire workflow and the participating machines in a networked production environment under the motto; smart print shop – zero defect packaging.

The company says these new solutions and measures are designed to boost the international competitiveness of packaging producers by enabling reliable, production and economical production, especially of defect free, high-quality folding cartons and labels in offset, digital and flexo printing.

Heidelberg says it wants to underline the strategic significance of the growth market of packaging and label printing for the further economic development of the company.

Stephan Plenz, member of the management board, equipment, Heidelberg says, “The appearance of packaging at the point of sale has a direct influence on the purchase decision and the brand experience of consumers. Depending on the market segment, poorly produced packaging – even just variations in colour – can result in loss of image as well as a high liability risk.

Heidelberg and Gallus will be exhibiting the new solutions at Interpack 2017, May 4-10 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
